Leonard Joel
Artist David Bromley and his fashion designer wife Yuge are auctioning their collections in Prahran and Daylesford on site over two successive Sundays through Leonard Joel.
The first collection will be auctioned from 12pm Sunday July 24 at 280 Chapel Street, Prahran and comprises an eclectic range of items of personal significance that have reflected their shared journey through married life.

EJ Ainger
A large single owner collection of Papua New Guinea, African and Australian indigenous carvings and artefacts are among the highlights of E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly auction from 9.30am Tuesday July 19 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The auction, which features several estates and private consignments from different parts of Melbourne, includes a comprehensive range of Victorian, Edwardian and retro teak furniture with items such as occasional dining room and oriental pieces, decorative mirrors and rugs.

Sothebys Australia
Fifteen Fred Williams etchings dating from 1954-1967 from the Raymond and Diana Kidd collection will be a strong highlight of Sotheby’s Australia’s forthcoming diverse international arts and design auction from 6pm July 19 at The Hughenden, 14 Queen Street, Woollahra in Sydney.
Acquired during the 1970s and 1980s, the etchings show the great craftsmanship and skill of one of Australia’s greatest landscape artists.
The collection includes works by Australian modern masters Charles Blackman, Robert Dickerson, Jon Molvig, Sidney Nolan, William Robinson and Tony Tuckson.

EJ Ainger
Two Clifford Possum paintings entitled Man’s Dreaming and Lizard Dreaming should attract Aboriginal art lovers to E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly sale from 9.30am at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The artworks, each with catalogue estimates of $3000-$5000, are among a selection of paintings and graphics in the auction bound to interest auction goers.
There is a range of collectables and items of interest including Lladro, crystal and ruby glass, and Dresden porcelain.

A rare and original cedar “dunny” commode circa 1869 is part of an impressive collection of early Australian colonial furniture, belonging to renowned antique dealers Suzanne and Chris Morris, that will go under the hammer from 10.30am Tuesday June 28 at Mossgreen’s Australian & Colonial History auction 935 High Street, Armadale.
Reverend Henry Moulle (1801-1880) invented the dry earth compost toilet or closet following London’s “Great Stink” of 1858, when a defunct sewer system led to several cholera outbreaks.

Two significant estates are part of Leonard Joel’s forthcoming Jewels & Objets D’Art auction from 6pm Monday June 27 at the NCJWA Hall, 11 Queen Street, Woollahra in Sydney.
One of the estates belonged to Hungarian-born Vera Salgo who spent her time residing in both Australia and Monaco.
Well travelled, it took her many years attending auction houses and haunting dealer premises to amass her collection, which features mainly decorative arts that incorporates a European (mainly Hungarian) art component – an interesting and curious mixture of portraits and landscapes.

Christian McCann Auctions
Furniture and collectables from one of Melbourne’s most prestigious Toorak mansions will be auctioned on site at 159 Kooyong Road from noon Sunday June 26 by Christian McCann Auctions.
Sergeant Major Tivey built Nauroy at the beginning of the 20th century after returning from the Boer War and when he died his daughter turned the home into a boarding house.
Boarding house guests included members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Kim's Auctions
An Egyptian limestone carved figure of a human Pharaoh headed sphinx from the Ptolemaic period 300BC-30BC join several other Egyptian antiquities at Kim’s Auctions forthcoming sale from 11am Sunday June 26 at 327-329 Warrigal Road, Burwood.
The other antiquities include two faience amulets and one faience New Year’s pilgrim flask from the late to Ptolemaic period 600-BC-300BC and two Greek silver tetradrachms of Alexander the Great 336BC-323BC.
The amulets depict Ureus the Royal Cobra and the god Isis with baby horns.

Glenelg Auctions
Five paintings by Australian artist Pro Hart – including one purchased directly from “The Australian Bush Series” exhibition in October 1975 in Hong Kong – are a key component of Glenelg Auctions two-day auction from 11am Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 at 109 Learmonth Street, Portland.
The exhibition painting, entitled The Mallee Races, is an oil on board signed by the artist and comes complete with certificate of authenticity.
Other Pro Hart paintings in the sale include The Rabbit Trappers and Street Scene, Double Bay NSW.

Eugene von Guerard’s View of Hobart Town, with Mount Wellington in the Background is the centrepiece of a strong presentation of early and colonial works at Menzies forthcoming Sydney auction of Australian & International Fine Art & Sculpture from 6.30pm Thursday June 23.
Menzies head of Australian art Tim Abdallah believes the work, painted in 1856, is clearly a museum quality magnum opus, which the auction house expects to sell for more than $1.25 million.
