Favourite Dinky toys an auction feature

Dinky toys – the favourite of many children during the 20th century – will be auctioned from 9.30am Friday September 11 at Young’s Auctions 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The auction features a large collection of opals from Coober Pedy and Lightning Ridge (perfect for Christmas presents) and several substantial diamond rings.

Sterling silver is another feature along with a large pair of cast iron urns 1.6 metres tall, which has proved highly popular so far with auction goers.

The 1936-37 Ashes series was notable for the fact that Bradman scored successive ducks and Australia lost the first two Tests.

Massive model train collection a boon for enthusiasts

A massive collection of model trains – all as new and still in their original boxes – continues to be progressively auctioned as part of Young’s Auctions latest weekly sale from 9.30am Friday September 4 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The model trains are 10 to 30 years old and feature brand names like Atlas and Powerline. They have been kept under the vendor’s home in circumstances that ensure their excellent condition.

Like its predecessors, this sale features about 30 lots of the model trains and is number 21 in the auction series.
