A massive collection of model trains – all as new and still in their original boxes – continues to be progressively auctioned as part of Young’s Auctions latest weekly sale from 9.30am Friday September 4 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The model trains are 10 to 30 years old and feature brand names like Atlas and Powerline. They have been kept under the vendor’s home in circumstances that ensure their excellent condition.

Like its predecessors, this sale features about 30 lots of the model trains and is number 21 in the auction series.

The auction also has quality reproduction and traditional lounge suites and dining settings and hand woven Persian wool rugs from a shop that has gone into receivership.

Among the silverware are English sterling spoons and a Danish sterling silver jug.

There are several quality wine bottles on offer including Penfolds Bin 389 cabernet shiraz and Bins 407 and 707 cabernet sauvignon.

Unusual is the 1956 Melbourne Olympics memorabilia featuring scrapbooks, ticket stubbs, cup and saucer, biscuit tins and other items.
