Auction to suit wine buffs
A comprehensive selection of quality wines and porcelain are among the highlights of Young’s Auctions latest weekly sale from 9.30am Friday August 22 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
The wine selection includes bottles of Penfolds 707 Shiraz, Henschke Shiraz, Majella Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and Rockford Cabernet Sauvignon.
Among the porcelain is a selection of Copeland Spode vases as part of an ongoing supply from a Camberwell vendor, a collection of Royal Doulton Toby jugs and floral china.

Intriguing collectibles at Ainger auction
Buyers looking for exotic and decorative English, European and Egyptian items could do worse than checking out E.J. Ainger’s latest weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday August 19 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The pieces are part of estate furnishings from Melbourne homes and include oriental furniture and huge consignments of collectibles and items bound to interest auction goers.
Among the more unusual items is a clock holder by Panther of Birmingham, a pewter art deco service by important French pewter maker E. Chanal and a Bakelite shaving brush and soap.

Rare Aussie Rules portrait to go under hammer
A rare player portrait from the early days of Australian Rules football will go under the hammer from 6.30pm Monday August 18 when Bonhams holds its latest Australian art auction at Como House in Williams Road, South Yarra.
Geoff Moriarty played for Fitzroy from the Victorian Football League’s inaugural season in 1897 until 1907 before becoming the club’s first official coach in 1911.
His son, legendary Fitzroy full-forward Jack Moriarty, also played for 10 years (from 1924-1933), topping the club’s goal kicking list every year except 1930.

E.J. Ainger’s latest weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday August 12 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond will have furniture hunters turning up in droves.
The auction is massive – with plenty of antique English furniture and oriental furnishings to satisfy every auction goer’s needs.
Buyers can brows everything from chaise lounge to ladies and gents chairs, to clocks and giant vases.

Waterford crystal brings auction crowds
Waterford crystal centrepieces, decanters and glasses – many still in their original boxes – continue to be strong drawing cards at Young’s Auctions weekly sale from 9.30am Friday August 8 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
Owned by the one vendor, the crystal is being auctioned over several weeks and has attracted plenty of interest from auction goers.
The auction also is notable for two large estates of smalls and furniture that have filled up much of the auction room.

Four auctions in one day for Leonard Joel
Leonard Joel has four interesting auctions on Thursday August 7 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.
The first, at 10am, is a Vintage Interiors – Furniture sale followed 30 minutes later by the start of the Designer Jewellery auction and, at 11am, by the Specialist Print auction.
The last auction to start is Vintage Interiors – Books & Objects.

Furniture all the go at weekly auction
E.J Ainger’s forthcoming Tuesday auction from 9.30am at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond will feature a range of antique French, English and Australian furniture.
Also up for grabs is Chesterfield and upholstered lounge suites, a nine-piece Victorian drawing suite, mahogany bookcases and chests, bureaus, dining tables, gilded mirrors and light fittings.
The auction contains a strong selection ceramics including Royal Worcester and Moorcroft, along with Royal Doulton figures and other English porcelain.

Historic Australian Rules football memorabilia up for grabs
Australian Rules memorabilia – some more than 125years old – will be a major highlight of Mossgreen’s sporting memorabilia auction from 10am Tuesday August 5 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.
Among the most valuable items are two Carlton premiership medals dating from 1907 and 1908.
On the back of the former are the words “Presented by A. McCracken Esq, Presidt, 1908, To N.C. Clark, Vice Capn” – and on the reverse of the latter “Presd by A. McCracken Esq, President, 1908, E. Kelly”.
