E.J Ainger’s forthcoming Tuesday auction from 9.30am at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond will feature a range of antique French, English and Australian furniture.

Also up for grabs is Chesterfield and upholstered lounge suites, a nine-piece Victorian drawing suite, mahogany bookcases and chests, bureaus, dining tables, gilded mirrors and light fittings.

The auction contains a strong selection ceramics including Royal Worcester and Moorcroft, along with Royal Doulton figures and other English porcelain.

It will be a veritable feats of classic antique furniture, porcelain, paintings, silver and glass when E.J. Ainger auctions the estate of the late Patricia Jackson from noon Sunday August 3 on site at 52 St Georges Road, Toorak. 

Early 1900s marine brass lanterns and vintage timber port barrels from Victoria Barracks Officers Mess will be among rare memorabilia items that auction goers can pick up when Amanda Addams Auctions begins to swing the auction hammer at its forthcoming sale from 6.30pm Monday August 4 at 344 High Street, Kew.

The items, now surplus to requirements, include Hecworth plated silver coffee pots, single sconce candlesticks, silver plated shell design serving dish and cake servers, twin handled lidded tureens and stainless steel lidded ice buckets.

Auction goers looking for designer contemporary furniture can do worse than visit Young’s Auctions latest sale from 9.30am Friday at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

A major feature is a ball chair (like a Grant Featherstone egg chair but only round) and creative Herman & Herman pieces that include a dining setting and unusual armchair.

The vendor recently used these to decorate apartments for sale in Melbourne.

Other furniture from a store that is closing is Hampton in style and includes couches, occasional chairs and tables.

Sotheby’s Australia forthcoming Fine Asian, Australian & European Arts & Design Melbourne auction will highlight the painting Ans Ufer (Enten) by German artist Alexander Koester, famous for his painting of ducks.

From a private Queensland collection, the painting shows Koester’s mastery of Impressionist brushwork techniques and depiction of ducks.

Chinese, French, English, Egyptian and Australian antique furniture will be a highlight of E.J. Ainger’s latest weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday July 29 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

Of particular interest to collectors is a superb model steamship “The Waverley”, while auction goers will be interested in the Egyptian iron furniture and a Bluthner ebonised cased boudoir grand piano.

Other items to attract auction goers include four tall, modern upright display cabinets and a Dudley Drew floral oil painting along with works by other Australian artists.

The auction also has a wealth of other items including an antique French speltre statue and landscape paintings by artists such as Wickham Perry (whose works Young’s Auctions sells on a regular basis) and Fred Klix.

Philips Auctions has been asked to sell 58 indigenous artworks as part of a single vendor collection from the former South Melbourne-based Blue Door Gallery.

The auction will take place from noon Sunday July 27 at 47 Glenferrie Road, Malvern and follows recent successes Philips Auctions has achieved with single owner Aboriginal art sales.

Blue Door Gallery started by chance 10 years ago when a lunchtime stroll by owner Steve Ralph resulted in the purchase of a small William Jangala King work as a birthday present for his then girlfriend (now wife) Rachael.
