The huge clearance auction of 1600 lots will be held at 109 Learmonth Street, Portland and features art, fine furniture, porcelain, glassware, rugs, clocks and silver.

There is nothing like an interesting historical tale to spark auction goers’ interest in a particular item and the forthcoming Young’s Auctions sale from 9.30am Friday December 12 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn is no exception.
One of the items is an 1806 engraved sterling silver decanter holder that was presented in 1816 to a Dr Hallion – the ship’s doctor on one of the ships transporting convicts to the Australian penal colonies.

An inaugural musical instrument sale featuring several valuable violins, guitars and woodwind instruments will add yet another string to the auction house bow of Leonard Joel from 1pm Thursday December 11 at 33 Malvern Road, South Yarra.
The instruments date from an early 19th century boxwood and ivory flute by H. Wrede, violin bows by W.E. Hill and Son and a cello attributed to Joseph Thomas Klotz of Mittenwald to the a 1930s near mint condition resonator guitar by Dobro.

A major feature is an impressive 18-carat white gold and diamond Allegra demi-parture from Bulgari, comprising an articulated choker and bracelet designed as a series of baton-shaped links.
Together, the diamonds weigh approximately 25.80 carats and the piece carries a catalogue estimate of $180,000-$220,000.

A consignment from Egypt of fabulous Egyptian iron and marble outdoor furniture is the highlight of E.J. Ainger’s weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday December 9 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The auction also contains decorative mirrors and many decorative French Louis-style pieces and smaller items of interest.
Many of the items are from estates and homes throughout Melbourne and the Bellarine Peninsula and include antique and leather furnishings, genuine woollen pattern rugs, ceiling lights, porcelain and Victorian coloured glassware.
