Leonard Joel’s latest Jewels & Objets D’Art auction is aimed at offering Sydney collectors a comprehensive range of fine jewellery, wristwatches and unusual art objects.

The sale, from 1pm Sunday November 23 at the Keltie Cove Room in the Intercontinental Sydney Hotel at 33 Cross Street, Double Bay, is an interesting mix of collectables that should appeal to all collector tastes.

Leonard Joel’s national head of jewellery and the company’s Sydney office John D’Agata is particularly intrigued by lot 39 – an intricately designed miniature pistol charm that actually fires an accompanying silver bullet, according to him “in the most gentle of fashion”.

Another interesting item is lot 234, a French bronze and ivory “Royal Page” figure circa 1905 by Leon Noel Delagrange (1872-1912) – along with Roland Shakespeare Wakelin’s painting of the Sydney Harbour Bridge painted in 1944 near the end of the Second World War.

The auction is eclectic but with a strong focus on fine jewels bound to satisfy many a jewellery lover.
