Leonard Joel establishes valuations department

Jewellery expert Caroline Tickner has been appointed head of the newly created valuations department within Leonard Joel.

The new department, which complements a broad range of categories within the auction house, will provide specialist and tailored solutions for all written valuations.

This adds to Leonard Joel’s ability to provide expert written opinions on market, probate, insurance, matrimonial, superannuation and cultural gifts matters for its clients.

Tickner is highly knowledgeable about auction and valuation practices and recently catalogued and valued the Kozminsky collection – the highest grossing single vendor stock and trade jewellery auction in Australian history.

A qualified gemmologist, diamond technologist and registered jewellery valuer, Tickner brings more than 20 years of auction industry experience to jewellery valuations.

“We aim to be the market leader in all types of valuations and can provide specialist advice on insuring items, how to store pieces securely, how to dispose of collections, managing superannuation to deceased estates and probate advice,” she said.
