A Waterford crystal vase that has never been taken out of the box are among the more interesting items to feature in Young’s Auctions weekly sale from 9.30am Friday June 27 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The crystal includes a vase (complete with its retail price o f$1195 still attached) and pairs of toasting flutes.

Most unusual is a moose antler in which a Canadian artist has carved grizzly bears and a whale vertebra carved to look like an Eskimo beating a drum.

Pieces of Italian Murano glass in the shape of a musketeer and a lamp base are other items bound to attract auction goers.

The auction also contains a bronze by Brisbane sculptor David Mackay Harrison and a polar bear figure made of fibreglass.

Each week at Young’s Auctions about 600 items go under the hammer.
