Tahitian pearls an auction appetiser

A large collection of jewellery, Persian rugs, Victorian furniture, crystal, porcelain and art belonging to Kew socialite Sue Fincham will be auctioned on site in her parent’s former prestigious property at 16 Swinton Avenue, Kew from 11am Sunday July 24 through E.J. Ainger Pty Ltd.

The jewellery collection includes a Tahitian pearl necklace, ring and earrings, a Cartier watch  – and ruby, diamond and sapphire earrings.

Australian artists Ethel Carrick Fox, Hugh Sawrey, David Boyd, Sidney Nolan, D”Arcy Doyle and Pro Hart are featured among the artworks and collectors should be impressed with the selection of Royal Worcester, Moorcroft, Royal Doulton, Lladro and Lalique pieces on offer.

Among Sue Fincham’s other possessions is a Blackamoor figure lamp and a Victorian mahogany tallboy chest.

The auction also contains decorative French kingwood, walnut, Regency and Chippendale mahogany and rosewood furniture, sterling silver and jade and ivory carvings, decorative mirrors and cast iron garden furniture.
