Polar bear and model railway items an auction puller

In a first for Woodend auction goers, auctioneer Steve Graham is offering a magnificent polar bear rug to accompany a stag’s head, turtles and reindeer pelts at his forthcoming sale from 10am Sunday November 9 at 64 Urquhart Street, Woodend.

The auction features an extensive range of model railway locomotives, carriages, scenery and tracks – some of it on display in the 1960s and 1970s at Parliament House in Canberra.

The locomotives are handmade and built from scratch with LGB motors. The anonymous collector and creator is selling his extensive collection that faithfully reproduces a lumber town in Idaho from the 1920s to the 1940s.

Among the art works on offer is Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri’s 1994 Worm Dreaming triptych measuring 207cm by 123 cm.

Other auction highlights include enamel signs vintage fishing books, rods and reels, native spears and implements,  railway items, militaria, swords, sporting collectables, coins,  bank notes, tokens, medals, petrol bowser, oil bottles and tins, and pedal cars.
