An R. Lipp & Sohn upright piano is among the attractions at E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly auction from 9.30am Tuesday August 16 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

The sale, including estate furnishings from Melbourne’s eastern and south-eastern suburbs, is particularly notable for the vast selection of Victorian burr walnut and flame mahogany furniture.

Auction goers also should be impressed at the range of English retro teak dining room furniture, 19th and 20th century items, Middle Eastern rugs and decorative mirrors.

The auction contains a great selection of Australian and overseas oil paintings and watercolours, graphics and prints by notable artists.

Other attractions include a huge collection of ceramics, coloured glass and crystal and bronze statues.

There also are mantel clocks, Pacific Island carvings, jewellery, silver and silver plate.
