Leonard Joel’s forthcoming jewellery auction from 6pm Monday March 21 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra focuses on emeralds while offering jewellery styles to suit a broad range of buyers.

Of particular note is lot 200 – a magnificent parure of handcrafted platinum pendant, earrings and ring in which are set perfectly matched Colombian emeralds cut from the same raw crystal – with a catalogue estimate of $240,000-$320,000.

This parure is part of a collection that includes a signed serpenti ring by Bvlgari (lot 115).

Another attraction is a rare Belle Epoque diamond necklace (lot 4) and a three stone emerald cut diamond ring with four carats of diamonds (lot 90).

Period Australian pieces are always popular with buyers and this auction is no exception.

Lot 151, an early Australian fauna motif brooch c1860, is one strong example – while a later period stunning opal and diamond pendant/brooch by Forster (lot 199) is another.

The auction contains a selection of notable wristwatches including Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Chanel.
