The continued disposal of collectables from two estates is another major highlight of Young’s Auctions weekly sale from 9.30am on Friday November 14 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The collectables include an antique counter showcase and several oil lamps, along with a silver cigarette box presented in 1950 to board member Mr Thompson at the New Argus newspaper.

The auction contains several items from a company that has been liquidated including an 18-carat gold ring containing a solitaire diamond and two nine-carat gold rings set with sapphires and rubies.

Works of art include eight Norman Lindsay prints – two of them signed by the artist – featuring women with a fortune-teller and a woman with a female satyr.

A 1920s blackwood hallstand made by Goldman in Melbourne and mahogany cedar chests and chiffoniers are the antique furniture highlights – while those looking for brand new modern furniture at cost effective prices would do well to visit Friday’s sale.
