Arts Project Australia will hold a fundraising auction to celebrate its 40th anniversary from 3pm Sunday October 5 at Leonard Joel 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

Based in Northcote, the organisation is a centre for excellence that supports artists with intellectual disabilities to become practitioners in the visual arts – and all the funds raised will be donated to Arts Project Australia to help continue its work.

The charity auction will feature 51 donated paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics and contemporary jewellery – all provided by local artists, collectors and galleries.

The event, which will begin on the day at 2pm, has been jointly sponsored by Leonard Joel (holding its second fundraising auction in three years for Arts Project Australia as part of a five-year support deal), Leeuwin Estate and Art Guide Australia – along with special guest and comedian Hannah Gadsby.

Artists whose work is represented in the auction include Rick Amor, Charles Blackman, Peter Atkins, Dorothy Berry, Dorothy Braund, David Bromley, David Keeling, Inge King, Julian Martin, Lewis Miller, Sim Luttin and Alice Nampatitjinpa.

Tickets are $50 and bookings can be made on 9482 4484.
