Twenty-five bottle of Penfolds Grange Bin 95 dating back to 1994 is a wine lovers highlight of Philips Auctions latest sale from noon Sunday September 14 at 47 Glenferrie Road, Malvern.
The collector concerned specially selected two bottles of each vintage from 1996 to 2008 to cellar – except for the year 2000.

John Reid was a Warrnambool businessman, Rotarian and icon who spent much of his 94 years working for the good of the town.
In 1948, he established an electrical shop, which by 1967 was better known as John Reid’s Music Store where town residents could purchase the latest in musical instruments and records – the place to be seen for any aspiring musician.
For 57 years, he also was an active stalwart of the Warrnambool Rotary Club.

A comprehensive and fascinating collection purchased direct from Europe and through Australian specialists will be auctioned from 2pm Sunday September 14 at Mossgreen 926-930 High Street, Armadale.
Comprising more than 400 lots and assembled over four decades, the collection includes rare works of art from the Middle Ages and 15th to 18th centuries and is an unprecedented sale for Australia.

The maritime themes include several lifesaver-shaped picture frames containing portraits of sailing ships.

A collection of clocks and Russian pieces will entice auction goers to Young’s Auctions next weekly sale from 9.30am Friday September 5 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
The clocks are unusual – one a French slate and bronze timepiece, complete with a young woman and dog sculpture on top, and three others featuring intricate lace bronze work.
The Russian items include sterling silver stirrup cup and a bronze sculpture of a horse pulling a man and sleigh.
