Amanda Addams Auctions October sale top nine results

Amanda Addams Auctions top nine results at the October 7 sale were encouraging with a William Ricketts sculpture (lot 198) bringing $5000, and a Diamond and Sapphire Pendant (lot 124) $3300.

An Argy Rousseau bowl (lot 119) prompted plenty of bidding and eventually sold for $2250, while an emerald and diamond ring (lot 130) was knocked down for $1700.

There was a great deal of interest in the antique French walnut dumbwaiter (lot 422) that sold for $1550, and the Robert Grieve oil painting Greek Café (lot 187) brought $1250.

Another popular item was the Lalique purple butterfly vase (lot 176) that went under the hammer for $1150, and an Italian art noveau marble sculpture of a maiden (lot 471) changing hands for $1100 brought almost as much.

A rare Hagenauer bronze gondola and nude sculpture (lot 170) knocked down for $900.

All these results do not include 18.7 per cent buyers premium.

Amanda Addams Auctions next auction is on Monday November 4 (Melbourne Cup Eve).

The auction house is not taking any more furniture for the sale but can still accept quality decorative arts and paintings.
