A gold pocket watch, compass and family photos once belonging to geologist Professor Griffith Taylor (1880-1963), a surviving member of British explorer Robert Scott’s ill-fated 1910-1913 Terra Nova Expedition to Antarctica, will be a major drawcard for Philips Auctions jewellery auction from 6pm Monday June 16 at 47 Glenferrie Road, Malvern. 

A late 1800s Continental silver candelabra estimated to be worth between $4000 and $6000 is a major highlight of Young’s Auctions latest sale from 9.30am Friday June 13 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The auction also contains a strong collection of Lladro porcelain figures and a suite of Waterford crystal and Stuart crystal glasses.

Keen collectors will be interested in the comprehensive collection of model cars from the 1930s to the present day and kitchenalia items such as rolling pins from the Great Depression era.

Fine quality French, English (Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian) and Australian antique furniture, featuring sideboards, bookshelves, tables, dining suites and bedside cabinets, will be a strong crowd puller from 9.30am Tuesday June 3 for E.J. Ainger at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

Many of the collectables and other items of interest, including an extensive oriental porcelain collection from the 19^th and 20^th centuries, come from various estates in Toorak, Kew and Hawthorn.

Items from the late Joe Dioguardi’s Ringwood estate join the contents of a Hawthorn mansion and two Kew homes and other private vendors in Amanda Addams Auctions latest sale from 6.30pm Monday June 2 at 344 High Street, Kew.

The auction contains a feast of ceramics and pottery from the 19^th and 20^th centuries including a rare bird decorated planter by Australian potter John Campbell.
