Danish retro furniture to keep auction buyers busy
Young’s Auctions latest sale from 9.30am Friday at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn features a collection of Danish retro furniture that should have many buyers keen to purchase.
One of the major highlights is a Hermon & Hermon dining suite that cost $10,000 when new.
The auction also contains new furniture from a shop that has closed along with a selection of English porcelain, art, electrical goods and new and as new leather lounge suites.
Estate jewellery includes a Rolex watch and two one-carat diamond rings.

New furniture auction great for Christmas
More than $80,000 worth of brand new classical and modern style furniture from a shop that has closed down is a major highlight for Young’s latest auction from 9.30am Friday at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
The auction also contains jewellery from three estates including gold brooches, gold rings set with diamonds and semi-precious stones and two one-carat diamond rings.
Other jewellery on offer includes brand new rings to be sold under instructions from a liquidator.

Antique typewriters an old racing bikie's passion
Emeric Somlo’s collection of antique typewriters, sewing machines, telephones, irons, lamps and radios is one of the most unusual, rarest and best ever seen in Australia.
A native of the western Romanian village of Dolat near Timisoara, Emeric was born in 1923 and died in May last year.
During World War II, he served in both the German and Russian armies and after the war took up motorbike racing in both speedway and motorcross events in the eastern bloc countries.

Furniture and collectibles to attract wide range of buyers
Modern quality reproduction and antique furniture should attract a wide range of buyers to Young’s weekly auction from 9.30am Friday at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.
Highlights of the Victorian furniture include a secretaire bookcase, cedar chest, chaise longue, dressing table and gents chairs.
Among the reproduction furniture is a French provincial dining setting, Italian walnut display cabinet and new and as new lounge suites.
