Pro Hart exhibition painting to bring auction crowds
Five paintings by Australian artist Pro Hart – including one purchased directly from “The Australian Bush Series” exhibition in October 1975 in Hong Kong – are a key component of Glenelg Auctions two-day auction from 11am Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 at 109 Learmonth Street, Portland.
The exhibition painting, entitled The Mallee Races, is an oil on board signed by the artist and comes complete with certificate of authenticity.
Other Pro Hart paintings in the sale include The Rabbit Trappers and Street Scene, Double Bay NSW.

Paintings by leading Australian European and Chinese artists, fine antique furnishings and estate jewellery are some of the highlights at Ballarat Woolshed Auctions (otherwise known as Glenelg Auctions) forthcoming two-day sale from 12.30pm Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10.
The auction will take place at Ballarat Mill Markets 9367 Western Highway Warrenheip, Ballarat.
Among the paintings are David Bromley’s Hilary, John Borrack’s Aireys Inlet, Ernest Buckmaster’s Still Life and Arthur Boyd’s Bride and Bridegroom by a Riverbed.

Major antique furniture and Royal Doulton Seriesware items from an iconic Cox Street, Port Fairy cottage and a Geelong family home will go under the hammer from 10.30am Sunday March 6 through Glenelg Auctions at 109 Learmonth Street, Portland.
A standout is the black Kawai piano that originally cost $8000.
In addition to that is outstanding cedar, mahogany, oak and walnut furniture from the 1850s to the 1880s.

Bochara Park clearing sale one for the masses
A clearing sale for Bochara Park near Hamilton, Victoria should attract auction goers from miles around when auctioneer Brian O’Halloran from Glenelg Auctions climbs the podium at 10.30am Saturday January 30.
Bochara Park is 12 kilometres west of Hamilton (off the Glenelg Highway) and auction goers are advised to follow the direction signs to the sale.
The property has been sold and there is a lot of farm machinery up for grabs.
One of the major drawcards is a John Deere 5410 tractor and loader with 1298 hours on the clock.

The auction contains an extraordinary range of items including a fine Judy Cassab self-portrait – the first to be offered since her death last week at age 95.

Giant gong to ring in the auction day
A two-metre wide gong on an eight-metre beam from a Ballarat family and originally purchased in Asia for $46,000 is one of the more unusual items to be auctioned from 11am Sunday October 18 by Glenelg Auctions at the Ballarat Mill Markets at 9367 Western Highway Warrenheip, Ballarat.
Another is the White Chapel bronzed bell dated 1829 from the famous London foundry and bronze statue of a bull on a marble base.

Rare militaria among auction treasures
Two rare 1876 and 1886 big game Winchester rifles are among a strong selection of militaria items at Glenelg Auctions forthcoming sale from 10.30am Sunday August 23 at 109 Learmonth Street, Portland.
The auction features a rare Japanese warlord’s 1470s matchlock musket (catalogue estimate $4750-$4995) and three American Civil War carbines.
Other fascinating antique firearms include a Remington cartridge conversion revolving rifle ($6500-$7500 estimate) and a cased pair of goldminers percussion pistols.
