Mossgreen’s Quarterly Collectors Auction Series over two days from 10am Monday June 29 and 10am Tuesday June 30 is a an eclectic mix of general collectables, Chinese and Asian art, silver, Aboriginal tribal artefacts and artworks, military and maritime memorabilia, autographs, books, posters, musical recordings, furniture, cameras and photographic equipment, models and toy trains, paintings and jewellery.

The auction will be held at 926-930 High Street, Armadale and one of its main attractions is a Royal Doulton figurine entitled Princess Badoura.

A collection of Martin Brothers pottery should bring collectors running to Mossgreen’s ceramics section of its Autumn Auction Series from 10.30am Wednesday June 17 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

Located in Middlesex, England, Martin Brothers was famous for making Martinware – a salt-glazed stoneware – between 1873 and 1915.

Many figural jugs and vases were created by the three brothers and of special interest were the fanciful birds, usually made with removable heads and called “Wally Birds”.

 A rare and exceptional Argyle pink diamond, estimated at $1.1 million to $1.4 million, is a major drawcard at Mossgreen’s Fine Jewels & Watches auction from 6.30pm Tuesday June 16 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

Lot 51 of an Argyle Pink Diamond Tender in 2010, the diamond is accompanied by an Argyle certificate and a Gemological Institute of America diamond grading report from that same year, stating the colour is a fancy deep purplish pink and of clarity l1.

Mossgreen will hold its highest ever value auction when works in its Fine Australian & International Art sale go under the hammer from 6.30pm Tuesday June 2 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

With a mid-estimate of more than $4 million, the auction features works from several important private collections including one of Australia’s greatest entrepreneurs Ian Gowrie-Smith who, as a passionate art collector, has been particularly fascinated by Brett Whiteley.

An intriguing archive of newspapers from 1788-1789 featuring printed accounts of the first faltering steps to establish the Colony of New South Wales are part of Mossgreen’s Australian History auction from 10am Tuesday May 30 at 935 High Street, Armadale.

An extraordinary collection of Australian indigenous, Indonesian, Papua New Guinea and oceanic artefacts will go under the hammer from 6.30pm Wednesday May 20 at Mossgreen 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

The collection is owned by Perth-based couple Marc and Elena Pinto who share diverse cultural backgrounds, a passion of travel and inherited love of collecting.

Of Singaporean, Portuguese, British, Indonesian and Chinese descent, Marc was raised in Singapore.

Autograph signatures of every Australian Prime Minister since Sir Edmund Barton will be auctioned from 2pm Tuesday May 19 by Mossgreen at 926-930 High Street, Armadale as part of its Australian & Colonial Antique & Historical sale.

While most of the signatures carry catalogue estimates of several hundreds of dollars, that of the third Prime Minister Chris Watson (1867-1941) is estimated at $10,000-$12,000.

This is because he was the first prime minister from the Australian Labour Party and the first in the world from the labour movement.

The Steam Yacht Ena is a lasting testament to the luxuries of the Edwardian era.

Designed in 1900 by Walter Reeks Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron commodore Thomas Dibb, Ena is the finest Edwardian steam yacht in Australia and one of only three of its kind still in existence worldwide.

The steam yacht has been operating since mid-2014 on the Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay and is now up for auction.

The individuality of items in Mossgreen’s forthcoming Interior Decorator auction from 10.30am Monday May 11 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale is a great opportunity for collectors from all walks of life to obtain a piece of classic history.

Right from Lot 1, an 18^th century French Louis XV giltwood marble topped console table, collectors should be rubbing their hands in anticipation of some quality purchases.

The 1888 Coloured Champion of the World Boxing trophy – a Victorian sterling silver two-handled embossed trophy cup – will be auctioned from 10am Thursday April 23 by Mossgreen as part of its sporting memorabilia sale at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

The cup is engraved with the words “Presented to Peter Jackson, Coloured, Champion Boxer of the World, at the Alhambra, Brighton, Eng, Monday Decr 2^nd 1889, By a Few Admirers of His Sterling Qualities”.

Peter “Black Prince” Jackson was an Australian heavyweight boxer with a significant international career.
