Kim's Auctions

A 50-year-old collection built up by one of Melbourne’s leading businessmen will be auctioned on site from 11am Sunday at 46 Monomeath Avenue, Canterbury.

Kim’s Auctions has been asked to handle the sale which features quality sterling silver including a 1774 George III swing handle basket, a 1697 pair of William III lighthouse castors featuring the London coat of arms, a George IV oval shaped Scottish soup tureen by J McKay, an 1830 William IV ewer and basin, and George III dinner plates (London 1762) and six-piece tea service (London 1817-18).

Bulleen collector Miwas Grapsa has sold his house – now the furniture and collectables he has built up over the years must go and Kim’s Auction has been asked to handle the sale on site from 11am Sunday August 30 at 40 Summit Drive, Bulleen.

Clock collectors will have a field day with 50 French, English bronze and marble clock sets set to go under the hammer.

The antique furniture range is extensive and includes a French Louis XV walnut secretaire and an Italian walnut inlaid extension dining table with 10 chairs.

A stuffed life-size polar bear, which as its head almost touches the ceiling towers over everything else at in Kim’s Auctions rooms at 327-329 Warrigal Road, Burwood, is the dominating feature of his forthcoming auction – and first for 2018 – from 11am Sunday March 11.

Owned by Queensland-based Terry Dalkos, the bear was purchased from a Canadian supplier and legally imported with a Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) certificate.

A local taxidermist prepared the mount and attached the metal CITES tag underneath the stand.
