Famous Dutch artist painting in Bragg auction
A painting by famous 17th century Dutch artist Aert van der Neer entitled Frozen Landscape with Skaters is among a comprehensive collection of English silver and other collectibles assembled after World War I in Germany and brought to Australia about 15 years ago to be auctioned from 11am Sunday February 22 by Christopher Bragg Auctions at 719 Whitehorse Road, Mont Albert.

Radio auction for collector buffs
Brought up on a farm about 50 kilometres north of Wagga Wagga, radio collector Alan Higman is a country boy at heart with a practical nature.
“The first valve radio I collected I discovered as a youngster in a back lane in Wagga Wagga because the owners were throwing out,” he says. “It was a 1937 Switchon – a brand I have not seen since – still working and went ahead and restored it.”
Alan first became interested in collecting radios when he befriended a ham radio operator at school and listened to other amateur operators from all parts of the world.

Whitechapel Foundry bells music to the ears
A set of antique Whitechapel Foundry orchestral bells, a vintage Belgian clarinet and other vintage musical instruments should attract music lovers to Christopher Braggs Auctions latest sale from 11am Sunday at 20 Lilydale Grove, Hawthorn East.
The furniture up for auction is largely oriental with Baba Nyonya pieces and early 20th century Chinese furniture up for grabs.
Several of the paintings also are Chinese along with works by F Mutsaers, K Kandis and Tormod Holth.
