Royal Worcester porcelain among desirable auction collectables

A collection of rare and highly collectable hand painted Royal Worcester porcelain pieces by the company’s most prestigious artists will be the highlight of E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming special two-day auction from 11am Saturday August 5 and Sunday August 6 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

The collection comes from a prestigious Kew apartment, which also boasts a selection of decorative Australian paintings including works by J.A. Turner and Jan Scheltema among many other fine Australian and overseas artists.

A German engineer and his wife are offering a wonderful collection of genuine Qum silk decorative floor rugs, which they were gifted during numerous business trips to Iran.

Australian, French and English antique furnishings should impress auction goers along with decorative English and French timepieces including an outstanding French boulle salon bracket clock (with original bracket) from Merimbula that has been in the one family for more than 100 years.

English sterling silver from several homes is another auction attraction. A Monomeath Avenue, Canterbury home is selling a 12-piece cutlery canteen set along with an impressive Sheffield plate table centre comport.

Discontinued Royal Doulton figurines are further auction highlights with other decorative and collectable English, Continental and Oriental porcelain.

The sale, which features items from deceased estates, also contains estate jewellery and a rare telescope on a tripod.
