A pair of Schonbeck crystal chandeliers is among the more interesting highlights to attract auction goers to E.J. Aingers forthcoming weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday July 4 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The auction, which comprises fine furnishings and collectables from several Melbourne estates, features an impressive collection of sterling silver – including silver flatware, bowls, dishes condiments and trophies.
Of particular note are the silver vesta and cigar cases and a fine German 935 silver and enamel cigarette case, the panel showing a naked beauty daintily bathing.
Among the furniture is a French pedestal desk and large gilt and wooden mirrors.
The auction also contains a strong selection of Australian cedar and English mahogany furniture including sideboards, bookcases and occasional items.
Other furniture features include leather and upholstered lounges, Victorian chaise longues, cast iron half tester beds, and retro teak sideboard, chest and cocktail cabinet.
For art lovers, estate oil paintings, watercolours and graphics from international and Australian artists will hold plenty of interest and the auction also features porcelain, silver plate, glassware, miniatures, and brass and copper clocks.
