A multi vendor art auction not to be missed

A finely curated selection of traditional and modern art works is the hallmark of Mossgreen’s first multi-vendor Fine Australian and International art auction for 2017.

The auction, from 6.30pm Tuesday June 6 at 926-930 High Street Armadale, features an important Charles Condor painting Morning in the Park as an eloquent example of the artist’s late European work.

For the first time at auction is a striking Leonard French painting (The Workshop) – a strong complex work possessing all the traits of his best efforts.

Tim Storrier’s large and impressive burning rope (Will Arm) and burning log paintings (Evening Embers) are other highlights.

The auction also features important works by Janet Cumbrae-Stewart (The Letter), Penleigh Boyd (Mornington Peninsula), Justin O’Brien (Study for Venus), John Olsen (Study for Paella), Margaret Olley (The Kitchen Window), John Coburn (Carnival) and John Firth-Smith (Is That It?).

Mossgreen has now introduced the evening/day sale format for its fine art auctions. Held consecutively, the day auction will follow the evening sale but will be online only – allowing bidding from the comfort of home computers, smart phones and tablets.
