Oak roll top desk an auction feature

An oak roll top desk and French parquetry tables are among highlights from E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly auction from 9.30am Tuesday May 9 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.
The sale includes several estates and private consignments from home in Toorak, St Kilda, East Melbourne, Kew and Canterbury.
Other furniture to feature includes retro teak sideboards, Victorian and Edwardian chests of drawers and dressing tables, occasional furniture and fabric upholstered lounge room items.
The auction also contains a large and interesting collection of Australian and European oil paintings, watercolours and graphics, Persian and decorative floor rugs, grandfather clocks and decorative wooden and gilt framed mirrors.
Other items of interest to buyers include porcelain, glass, sterling silver, jewellery and cutlery.
