Looking for lounge or dining room furniture this coming week? Then head to E.J. Ainger at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond for its latest auction selection – with the sale beginning at 9.30am Tuesday September 15.
There is a great choice of Edwardian, Victorian and French furniture including extension dining tables, chairs and Australian cedar and estate furnishings.
Former Australian Club (a bastion of the Melbourne establishment) furnishings is another drawcard and the selection includes Chesterfield settees, occasional tables and lamps.
For porcelain collectors, the auction offers an abundance of Royal Doulton, Royal Worcester, Japanese and oriental items.
Among the more unusual items is a wooden connoisseur model by Beswick of England of Red Rum - winner of the Aintree Grand National in 1973, 1974 and 1977 and the Scottish Grand National in 1974. The horse was owned by N.H. Le Mare.
The sale also contains mirrors, paintings, prints and graphics and there is a range of sterling silver, silver plate cutlery, jewellery, rugs and display cabinets.
Auction goers might even find something for the garden among the garden and outdoor cast iron furniture.
