Model vehicles, soldiers and dolls dominate the items at Leonard Joel’s first collectibles auction for the year from noon Thursday February 5 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.
Collectors should find the Dinky 36C Humber Vogue saloon complete with driver and footman particularly appealing, along with two Dinky 36E British Salmson two-seater sports cars and a 36F four-seater sports.
Other popular collectible models to feature are two Dinky 36G black roof taxis with drivers. One model is maroon, the other green and both have smooth tyres and open rear windows.
The auction also contains several model buses including two tinplate versions, a Dinky 29A pre-World War II Marmite motorbus and two Dinky 29C Dunlop models with grey roofs.
Other interesting models include a Dinky 33F pre-World War II petrol tanker and trailer, Dinky farming models including a 22E tractor and a Dinky pre-World War II 22A open sports car.
Among the dolls on offer are several Armand Marseille bisque head versions – one carrying an estimate of $480-$550.
