Busy month for auctioneer Steve Graham

January will be a busy month for auctioneer Steve Graham as he will be holding three auctions in 10 days.

The first, from 10am on Sunday January 12 at “Kippen Ross” 429 Bulmans Road West Melton, is a clearing sale with a comprehensive range of items that no doubt will appeal to many of the locals.

A major drawcard is the Mustang 960 bobcat with a four-in-one bucket and a Leyland three-tonne tip truck.

Given the area, a galvanised steel open front shed more than 25 metres long would be handy for many – the only proviso is that the purchaser must dismantle it to take it away.

There is a 4.7-metre Pride Premier boat (with no outboard but a fish finder) on a trailer, 1.8-metre by 1.2-metre cage trailer and motorbike trailer.

Useful to farming will be the eight-foot pasture harrows, 125cc quad bike, ride on mower, PV C piping, roofing iron and the 1000-litre water tank.

The auction also contains three bus shelters, show and cross country jumps and poles – along with jump wings, pony racing sulky, harness, saddles, tack, horse rugs and feed bins.

Many of the remaining outdoor items will be useful around country properties.

Among the furniture are antique wardrobes and dressers, architectural plan drawers, a queen size solid timbre tapestry inlay bed suite, desks, timber shelving bookcases and other household items.

Collectables include two silver coffee services, silvery cutlery sets, and other crockery and cutlery.

The following Sunday from 10am, Steve Graham has another clearing sale at “Alona Lodge” 262 Millett Road, Gisborne South.

This auction again offers a large number of farming implements such as grader blades and rippers, super spreader, trailers, temporary fencing panels and a five horsepower rotary hoe.

There also are mechanics tools, mowers, car parts, tyres and rims, steel, petrol collectables, petrol bowser and parts, checkerplate ramp and floor decking.

Other items include electric and petrol pumps, 1000-litre water tank, racking, workbenches, fencing wire and petrol station price signs.

Among the antique and modern furniture and collectables is a dining suite, two large single electric aide beds, queen size bed, paintings, mirrors, china, glass and decorative pieces.

The third auction is the Whistle Stop Tavern – a magnificent century-old local icon in Station Road, Gisborne.

Auctioneer Steve Graham has been instructed to sell all items including commercial cooking equipment, refrigerators, coolrooms, bar, bar taps, dining tables, chairs, stools, decorations, crockery and cutlery.
