Highland Royal Worcester a real auction crowd pleaser

A three-piece Royal Worcester highland cattle garniture set by Stinton joins 20 pieces of Moorcroft (some with a Spanish pattern) Royal Doulton and 19th century Staffordshire figures as a highlight of Woodlands Auctions opening sale for 2014 from 10.30am Sunday January 5 at 16 Grubb Road, Ocean Grove.
Other porcelain items include Royal Crown Derby and Beswick animals along with 19th century cut glass pieces, sterling silver, caddies and boxes.
The auction contains a large selection of Danish retro furniture including sideboards, sofas and bookcases – and French, Australian and English
Georgian and Victorian pieces.
Major features are large French showcases and display cabinets, oak hallstand, bedside cabinets, wardrobes and cedar chests of drawers.
There also are dining tables, serveries, dumb waiters and corner cabinets along with French 19th century long case clocks, chandeliers, coffee and nests of tables.
Other items include whiskey advertising mirrors and signs, militaria (including campaign medals and bayonets), half sovereigns, Roman, medieval and victorian silver coinage.
Notable Australian artists to feature include David Bromley, Robin Nganjmirra, Anne Marie Graham, A.A. Prout and Wyckham Perry.
