Christian McCann Auctions final sale for 2015 – from noon Sunday December 6 at 426 Burnley Street, Richmond – caps off a highly successful year for the auction house.

This last auction will offer what auctioneer Christian McCann describes as “without doubt the finest French furniture on the open market, superb French antique porcelain, Australian art, antique clocks and antique bronze sculptures – and should not be missed by any serious collector”.

The timepieces include a rare 10-tube long case clock, Boulle salon and English bracket clocks, and the finest ormolu specimens and clock sets.

Among the French furniture on offer are commodes, mirrors, vitrines, inlaid tables and rare Veni Martin panelled cabinets.

English furniture includes dining settings and library items. Chinese antiques feature cabinet chairs and tables.

The porcelain includes a rare collection of Meissen birds, ormolu mounted Sevres vases and signed Royal Worcester pieces.

The Chinese carved ivory figures and groups are joined by exquisite jade examples.

Other features include rare cut crystal and ormolu chandeliers and French antique exhibition bronze figure groups on pedestals, signed by important sculptors.

English and Australian paintings include works by such well-known Australian artists as Pro Hart, David Boyd, Hugh Sawrey, J.A. Turner and Sidney Nolan.

The management and staff would like to thank all their clients for their continued support throughout 2015 and wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
