Specialist print and photography auctions the perfect way to collect favourites

For collectors who find it difficult to keep pace with the escalating prices achieved for many of the more valuable works by their favourite artists, Leonard Joel now offers the perfect solution with its specialist print and photography auctions.

The latest sale, from 11.30am on Thursday October 27 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra, provides an affordable alternative range of lithographs, etchings, screenprints and other works by many of Australia’s leading artists such as Arthur Boyd, John Olsen, Fred Williams, Graham Fransella, Charles Blackman, Louis Kahan, Noel Counihan, David Boyd and John Coburn.

Some of the more interesting works include Charles Blackman’s Fallen Schoolgirl screenprint, John Olsen’s Billabong 2002 etching (edition 53/100) and Graham Fransella’s Mocking 1988.

Fred Willliams is represented through the Waterfall lithograph (37/100), Louis Kahan through Violin Concerto 1998 (etching edition 1/95) and John Coburn Jazz II 2000.

David Boyd has several works in the sale including a twist screenprint artist’s proof, while brother Arthur offerings include four lithographs that comprise the Bundanon Quartet 1991 series.

Noel Counihan’s entries include the linocut entitled Face I 1978 (19/25).
