Single owner Ralph Lauren collection hits auction scene

A single owner collection that features a massive range of Ralph Lauren items – including furniture, fittings, clothing and shoes – will be auctioned as part of Leonard Joel’s Modern Designer Luxury Collection from 5.30pm Thursday July 30 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

The collection has never been used or worn and gives auction goers the chance to buy these items at less than retail price.

Although the clothing and shoes are mainly for males, women buyers will be interested in the furniture, fittings and other accessories (such as jewellery boxes) – or in purchasing for their husbands or partners.

The Leonard Joel auction room has been decked out to look like a boutique department store and features several interesting items including a Burberry dress design worn by actresses Kate Moss, Anne Hathaway and Naomi Watts.

Of particular interest to buyers will be the Ralph Lauren ‘City Modern’ trunks and a Ralph Lauren Hammond chess set, which symbolises much of the collection.

The sale is one of the latest initiatives Leonard Joel is using to attract a younger demographic to the auction market.

Other items include a Ralph Lauren ‘City Modern’ dining table, Ralph Lauren shoes and candlesticks and Verna Panton designed Vitra chairs.

Much of the Ralph Lauren glassware on offer was named after famous British royalty figures – such as the individual Camilla and Diana sets.
