Sex in the City shoes for auction

A pair of Manolo Blahnik cobalt blue shoes with diamond feature buckles – similar to those worn by Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) for her wedding to Mr Big in the movie Sex in the City – will be a ragingly popular highlight for Leonard Joel’s pre-owned luxury auction from 1pm on Thursday at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

The auction also contains several Georg Jensen creations including a jewellery suite, a pair of cuff links and a ring.

Although trained as silversmith and goldsmith, Georg Jensen really wanted to be a serious sculptor and only turned to jewellery design out of financial necessity.

Initially, he only worked in silver and semi-precious stones because of their economic viability and his early creations were all hand made.
