Paintings by Australian artists including Ern Trembath, Ambrose Griffin and Anders Jansons and studio pottery signed by Gus McLaren and Reg Preston should whet the appetites of collectors at this week’s Youngs Auctions sale from 9.30am Friday April 17 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

For train buffs, there is a massive model train collection numbering some 200 items of both HO and N scales.

Another interesting item is a Longines Conquest AHP (arm powered high precision) gent’s watch complete with original box and books.

The auction also has clocks, silver plate and jewellery and examples of retro style furniture, which is becoming increasingly popular.

Other furniture items include a large dining table with 10 chairs for which the vendor paid about $10,000 and two expensive Danish Lafer chairs valued retail at about $4800 each.
