A matching pair of Sevres porcelain cabinet vases with beautiful seascape panels signed by L. Grisee sets the tone for Kim’s Auctions forthcoming sale from 11am Sunday November 25 at 53 Prospect Hill Road, Camberwell.

This superb Victorian home set in a leafy garden has already been auctioned and, according to auctioneer Kim Haolin, the entire contents must be sold on the day.

Not only is the porcelain collection something for auction goers to behold, there also is a strong selection of Australian art by such well-known artists as David Boyd, Pro Hart, J.H. Scheltema, Max Mannix, Hugh Sawrey, Bill Coleman, Sali Herman, Charles Blackman, Frank Harding and David Bromley.

Typical of the art selection is David Boyd’s Picnic in Bush Landscape and Max Middleton’s In Town on Market Day.

Furniture is another strong attraction with world class French inlaid two-door ormolu mounted antique black marble top cabinet a leading example.

Other fine furniture includes a 19th century kingwood and palisander writing bureau with a rare mechanique drawer operated tambour top and a superb antique Napoleon III ladies Bonheur du jour shaped panels also in kingwood and palisander.

Sterling silver is a further drawcard with a quality five-piece Victorian style English tea set, which includes a hot water kettle on a stand, coffee and tea pots, sugar basin and milk jug, typical of the items on offer.

Impressive is a pair of massive bronze Tang style ceremonial horses and bronze Buddha seated on a lotus leaf plinth – along with various other historical Chinese artefacts.

Jewellery lovers will be impressed at the range for auction with a yellow gold and lavender jade pendant set with 70 diamonds and a unique six-carat sapphire white gold ring of particular note.
