Leonard Joel holds its first musical instruments auction

An inaugural musical instrument sale featuring several valuable violins, guitars and woodwind instruments will add yet another string to the auction house bow of Leonard Joel from 1pm Thursday December 11 at 33 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

The instruments date from an early 19th century boxwood and ivory flute by H. Wrede, violin bows by W.E. Hill and Son and a cello attributed to Joseph Thomas Klotz of Mittenwald to the a 1930s near mint condition resonator guitar by Dobro.

The instruments range in estimate from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands – catering for all tastes, budgets and musical categories.

Two violins to feature are an 1899 Louis Oho Dusseldorf and a 1947 Pietro Messori Modena.

Live music performances will be held between 5pm and 8pm viewing night Wednesday.
