Furniture to suit a range of auction tastes

Mid-20th century Nathan and G plan teak sideboards, coffee and side tables are a highlight of E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming auction from 9.30am Tuesday October 10 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

The auction contains a strong selection of English and French furniture including two exceptional French court cupboards.

Other French furniture of note includes a Louis XIII-style fauteuils, walnut and ormolu mounted vitrine, a Louis XV-style three-drawer bureau plat and a set of 14 Louis XV-style dining chairs.

The English furniture features a campaign chest, mahogany and cedar secretaire bookcases, Edwardian and Victorian sideboards, dining tables and chairs, and a Sheraton revival mahogany cabinet.

The auction also contains an English pollard oak cased grandfather clock, child’s classic rocking horse and a Huon pine lowboy chest.

Other items include luxurious settees, wing back Moran chairs, Persian rugs, and a Chinese silk wall hanging.

There are several garden features including wrought iron garden gates, urns, cast iron birdbath, cement benches, ornaments and a wagon wheel.
