Former Melbourne antique shop owner Peter Mifsud’s collection of rustic antiques, cast iron, furniture and china will be among items auctioneer Steve Graham is placing under the hammer from 10am Sunday August 16 at 10 Potts Road, Taradale.

The rustic antiques include anvils, wagon wheels, an old portable smoker, troughs and grindstones – and a Furphy water tank that is not part of his collection.

Mifsud also is a classic and vintage car and memorabilia buff and there are examples of this in the auction including MG and Alvis signs, various car parts, workshop manuals and motor magazines.

Other major collectable items include enamel, tin and timber signs, milk cans, old tools and petrol, grease and engine oil containers.

A 2000 Mitsubishi Magna also is for sale and the auction contains a range of antique furniture, a Victorian epergne, jugs, porcelain, vases, clocks, radios, paintings and garden items.

Among the more interesting and unusual household items on offer are two racks of colourful wooden, glass and porcelain rolling pins.
