Carvings and artefacts among auction collectables

A large single owner collection of Papua New Guinea, African and Australian indigenous carvings and artefacts are among the highlights of E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly auction from 9.30am Tuesday July 19 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

The auction, which features several estates and private consignments from different parts of Melbourne, includes a comprehensive range of Victorian, Edwardian and retro teak furniture with items such as occasional dining room and oriental pieces, decorative mirrors and rugs.

Pro Hart sketches are among the Australian and European art, bronze statues and marble pedestals.

The auction also contains a large collection of china, crystal and sterling silver.
