Auction clocks for all collectors

A brass art nouveau timepiece (lot 529) is a major drawcard among the huge selection of French, English and American mantel and wall clocks to go under the hammer from 9.30am Tuesday September 25 at E.J. Ainger 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

Furniture items are highlighted by a mid-20th century style Space furniture desk (lot 680) purchased at the time for $15,000.

The 1960s and 1970s have not been forgotten in this auction with impressive teak sideboards (lots 815 and 823) on offer – along with a nests of teak tables (lot 793) and dining suites (lot 782).

For those buyers searching for ornate carved fivefold oriental screens (lot 827), Aingers is the place to come and just in case they would like to entertain on a lavish scale there is an impressive Chippendale Revival mahogany 13-piece dining room suite (lot 595).

French and English oak occasional furniture is another attraction – as are the crystal basket chandeliers and brass hanging lights.  

A large copper ship’s lantern (lot 662) is another highlight along with fine quality Persian rugs and works by Australian artists.

Buyers looking for garden furniture will be impressed by several pairs of cast iron urns, swan planters, garden benches and outdoor settings.

There also is a selection of English archtop iron gates (lot 586 and 837).
