Buyers looking to enter the art market at an affordable level could do worse than attend Mossgreen’s Sunday Art Emporium auction from 2pm Sunday April 12 at 926-930 High Street, Armadale.

Many of the works on offer – featuring small oils, watercolours, lithographs and screen prints by well-known Australian and overseas artists – carry catalogue estimates of only a few hundred dollars and are priced to sell.

This is the first of three lower priced Mossgreen art sales for the year, being held to encourage and expand collector interest in art.

Among the works is a collection from Port Jackson Press – established in 1975 as a quality printmaker.

The organisation has worked with many of Australia’s most highly regarded artists to produce significant editions.

These include John Olsen, James Gleeson, David Larwell and Charles Blackman. The company also has consistently supported emerging printmakers and collaborated with those artists exploring contemporary printmaking methods.

Another major feature of the sale is the Artnet collection of international and Australian prints.

Artnet is dedicated to presenting a rich source of fine original graphics by both established and emerging international and Australian artists.

Significant international names include David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Henri Matisse and Patrick Caulfield.
