Affordable art at online auction

A range of artworks by prominent Australian artists and other notable collectables currently being auctioned online through GraysOnline give collectors the chance to pick up quality works at affordable prices.

The sale, due to finish at 9.15pm on Tuesday October 4, features works by David Bromley, Pro Hart, Kristie Stenning, Charles Blackman, Hugh Sawrey, Ken Done, Gloria Petyarre, Sidney Nolan, Terry Lewitzka and Jack Absalom.

International artists whose works appear in the sale include Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.

Paintings include Pro Hart’s Dragonfly, Bromley’s Laura in Blue and The Young Artist, Done’s Model and Lillies and Lewitzka’s The Road Home, Stenning’s Georgia and Petyarre’s Bush Medicine Leaves.

Limited edition lithographs and other works include Sawrey’s Kidman Cattle Men, Nolan’s The Marriage of Aaron Sherritt and untitled efforts by Dali and Picasso.

Collectables feature an antique Nigerian rebuilt English pocket flintlock pistol, vintage Australian postage stamps, a rare limited edition 119 of “The  Anonymous Journal” (published in 1975) of the round the world voyage of HMS Endeavour, a nine-carat gold ring set with cubic zirconias, polished quartz/agate thunder egg pieces, an antique Chinese celadon bowl from the Filipino national museum and scarce solid silver ancient Ottoman Empire coin (1327-1687).
