Respected Melbourne collections go to online auction
Items from the collections of three highly respected collectors will comprise the entire contents of Melbourne-based Gibson’s Auctions forthcoming Interiors Private Collections online sale from 11am Sunday October 11 at 885-889 High Street, Armadale.
The collectors include Edward (Ed) Clark Antiques, the late Bjarne Nielsen and Robyn Allen.
First coming to prominence as a key figure in the 1974 Melbourne sale of the Maharajah of Mysore Collection, Ed Clark has been in the antiques trade for more than 50 years.

Australian architect jeweller leaves an interesting auction collection
Jewellery and other collectables belonging to the late Tony White – Sydney architect turned jeweller – will be auctioned from 2pm Sunday October 11 by Bonhams at 36-40 Queen Street, Woollahra New South Wales.
White trained formally in architecture and graduated in 1965 from Sydney University before practising his craft for five years in Sydney and Melbourne.
During this period he became interested in jewellery and, although having no formal training, began working full-time from 1971 as a jeweller.

During the strict Stage 4 lockdowns imposed by the Victorian Government to combat surging COVID-19 virus cases in the state, Philips Auctions has been able to hold timed online jewellery auctions to cater for auction goers.
Its latest efforts ends from 6pm on Monday August 17 and involves 101 affordable lots of rings, earrings, pendants, brooches and necklaces.
Typical is a large emerald dress ring (lot 100) with a $1500-$1800 estimate, while a pair of green sapphire and diamond drop earrings (lot 101) is listed for $900-$1300.
